Negative experience: My experience with this company has been extremely frustrating. I’ve been calling for nearly two weeks, and every time I speak with the secretary I’m told that Derek will contact me soon. He has never called me back. Communication is non-existent and the lack of professionalism is really disappointing. If this is how they handle clients, I can’t recommend their services at all.

Fantastic experience: Derek found my relative after many many years in less than 48 hours from the initial phone call. I was sure he was abroad, so Derek liased with associates abroad to put a trace in place. However, Derek thankfully had the foresight to check for him in the UK first. Lo and behold, he found him in the same city and even delivered a message from me at his address (all within that 48 hours). Derek was proactive, responsive, and sensitive throughout . I had a long lost uncle who I haven’t seen for about 30 years, he was a very integral part of my family and my adolescent years. He moved away after a family bereavement and we lost touch. I’ve never had any experience of hiring an investigator but a friend of a friend told me about Boothroyd’s in Glasgow. So, I took the plunge. I have rarely experienced the advice and support of the gentleman on the end of the phone. He was kind and professional and assured me that they would do everything that they could to find him. I only had out dated details of where he might be, I only knew his name, I didn’t even know his year of birth. Not a lot to go on and I wasn’t very hopeful to say the least. A couple of days later Boothroyd’s called me and said that they had not only found my uncle but had spoken to him and asked him if he would like to be put in touch with me. He did! I was absolutely astonished. I got his telephone number from Boothroyd’s and I called him straight away. I cannot describe the emotions that ran through me. Fantastic experience: I recently instructed Boothroyd Associates in Glasgow to conduct surveillance upon my Partner as I believed she was having a secret relationship with a work colleague when she was working away between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The investigators managed to unearth the truth behind her late nights out and provided me with undeniable evidence of her adulterous behaviour with her “work colleague”. I cannot thank Boothroyds enough, the passion these guys have for their work is clear from the word go, I’m confident that this has got to be one of if not the best PI company’s in Scotland. I would highly recommend this company on their customer service alone never mind the extra steps they took to ensure the truth was discovered in my case.

Negative experience: Never ever deal with this agency. I asked to conduct a background check on my daugther’s ex partner. I talked to Bob Carrigan, director of the agency. He took my money and until I asked him about the results two months later, I had not heard from him. According to him he could not find anything on my daughter’s ex – was it a reason why he never bothered to inform me about the progress? Not finding anything was a big surprise for us as we, ourselves, knew about ex partner’s criminal convictions and other half criminal actions of his. I asked for a refund but was told there would be no refund. I was also promised by Bob for further investigation on my daughter’s ex past. Again, two more months later, no news! Taking my money is the only thing the agency did to me! Had I known it, I would have asked other agencies who promise a proper background check. Think twice before approaching this agency! I had to click on one star in order to post this review, but it should be ZERO stars
